Sunset in Buena Vista, Colorado
(Photos - August 12, 2007)
I had great fortune with photographing the sunset at
Independence Pass and
Cottonwood Pass on the past two nights respectively,
and I walked to the southern end
of Chaffee County Road 337 to see what the "color show" would
be like this evening. For those of us fortunate enough to call the town of
Buena Vista, Colorado home, we enjoyed some very pretty sunset colors this evening.
The photo above was the view facing southwest with the Buffalo Peaks in the bottom left corner. |
Looking straight west towards Johnson Village
and the gulch leading to Trout Creek Pass,
there were some deep pink and purple shades. |
To the south, orange and pinks shades hovered over the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. |
The view of Mt. Princeton, which is very likely the most recognizable
mountain for those in town. The summit stands at 14,197 feet in altitude! |
A closer view of Mt. Princeton's summit with sunset colors behind. |
One more photo. Pretty Colorado sunset colors to the north. |
