Sunset At The Continental Divide

Independence Pass, the site of this photo, is located at the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. On a 2006 summer evening, I traveled up there for the purpose of photographing the sunset ... and boy, was I in for a treat! The sky exploded in shades of orange, yellow and dark purple!
